The Tasting Contest: bring your favorite rhubarb treat!
We supply cups, plates, forks and spoons for the tasting. We also supply volunteers to serve. You just bring your rhubarb creation and the recipe to the gazebo in the park. Registration is at 9:30 a.m.. You must be registered to enter.
Samples are kept small - bring the equivalent of 2 - 9"x13" pans or 2-3 quarts or 2 pies. Festival-goers will taste entries and then cast their vote for the best of the best rhubarb dish.
Tasting begins at 10:30 a.m. Prizes will be awarded at 2 p.m. Must be present to win.
The Largest Leaf Contest and the Heaviest Stalk Contest: bring your largest rhubarb leaf!
Prizes will be awarded at 2:00 p.m. Must be present to win.
The Rhubarb Fashion Show: wear your favorite look (hat, apron, tee shirt, complete ensemble) and take part! Fashions may or may not use rhubarb leaves - you decide!
The show begins at 2:30 at the Gazebo. Please arrive 15 minutes early. Prizes will be awarded following the show. See you there!
Rhubarb Pie-Making: make a pie to take home! Whether you're an experienced pie-maker or a first-timer, here's your chance to get your hands on a rolling pin.
Three sessions include one each for men, women and children with 4 participants in each session. All materials are furnished. Pies in each session are judged by finished look. Each participant takes home his/her pie with a special prize for the winners.
Rhubarb Minute-To-Win-It: see how many pieces of rhubarb you can transfer to a bowl in one minute using chop sticks!
All materials furnished.
One winner at the end of the day will receive a beautiful hand-carved pair of chopsticks.
